Maxine Fidler, ND, LAc, MSAOM is a licensed Naturopathic physician and NCCAOM certified acupuncturist in Middlebury, Vermont. She believes that true health is about living well, and her passion is to help people achieve optimal health through integrating the best of conventional and alternative medicine. She joins Deborah Ray to talk about her latest e book “Blueprints for a Healthy Heart”.

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States for both men and women, and can express itself in many forms: high blood pressure, lipid imbalances, insulin abnormalities and diabetes, atherosclerosis, stroke, and a number of others.  A good deal of heart disease is related to lifestyle and daily habits of living. While conventional medicine has developed a wide array of methods to address the many ways heart disease affects our health, these treatments often have unwanted risks and side effects, are costly, and may not perform as advertised. Alternative medicine in many cases offers approaches to heart disease that are safer and equally effective.  Blueprints for a Healthy Heart offers a great deal of information about natural and alternative medical approaches that can help those afflicted with heart disease cope with their illnesses while avoiding many of the complications conventional approaches often trigger.
