In a study involving osteopenic ovariectomized C57BL/6 mice, supplementation of the diet (25% w/w) with dried plum, apple, apricot, grape, or mango for a period of 8 weeks (or a control diet) was found to reveal the anabolic effects on trabecular bone in the vertebra and prevention of bone loss in the tibia associated with dried plum supplementation, and none of the other fruits.
