In a hospital-based, case-control study involving 122 cases of gall bladder cancer and 122 controls, gall bladder cancer incidence was found to be associated with illiteracy, lower socioeconomic status, parity more than 3, age at first pregnancy less than 20 years, and the use of non-liquefied petroleum gas cooking fuel, while vitamin C intake was found to have a protective effect.
