Acupuncture Effective in the Treatment of Plantar Fasciitis

In a randomized study involving 38 subjects with plantar fasciitis, treatment with acupuncture, added to standard treatment with ice, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, and a stretching and strengthening program, was found to be significantly more effective at reducing pain, as compared to treatment with the standard therapist alone, after 1 and 2 months.
